Originally hailing from the vibrant Bronx, New York, I made the move to Ohio when my husband received his final assignment with the Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB. We are proud parents to a son who is making a difference as a physician assistant in emergency medicine.
With a robust career spanning 31 years in elementary education, I dedicated 24 of those years to nurturing young minds at Valley Elementary in Beavercreek. My teaching philosophy centers on differentiated instruction, ensuring that every child learns in a way that resonates with them. I am passionate about innovative, hands-on teaching methods and real-world learning experiences, which have been the cornerstone of my educational approach.
My commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as I have actively engaged with various community organizations dedicated to supporting children and educational initiatives. I proudly served a nine-year term on Clark State's Foundation Board and currently contribute to the Finance Development Committee at Clark State. Additionally, I am involved with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance Committee and have held the position of both member and past president of the Beavercreek Women's League.
My dedication to education and community service has not gone unnoticed; I have been honored with several awards, including induction into the 2024 Greene County Women's Hall of Fame, recognition from Beavercreek Township, the National Points of Light Award, the National Energy Development Award, Greene County Educator of the Year, and the Beavercreek Excellence in Education Award.
As a candidate for the board of education, I bring a wealth of experience, a deep commitment to student success, and a passion for fostering a supportive and innovative educational environment. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the Beavercreek community and the future of our children.
